Robert Pattinson's hair fell out while filming Good Time
The British star feels the movie helped him grow as an actor.
Actor Robert Pattinson lost chunks of his hair thanks to peroxide dyeing disasters on the set of his new film Good Time.
The hunky Brit portrays kooky criminal Connie Nikas in the New York City crime drama and he suffered costume department mishaps as he changed his look to get into character.
"Some scenes they peroxided my bangs," he recalled to PageSix. "They changed my hair colour so many times that some of my hair fell out.”
Pattinson admits his hair troubles wasn't the only difficult part of the shoot, noting he rarely slept while filming the movie.
“It was an exhausting shoot," he shared. "Long days, late nights. Lots of energy expended because it’s a twisted odyssey and deals with the city’s underworld. The movie’s exciting. Violence, mayhem, junkies."
But all the effort worked out and Robert is super proud of the film, which was directed by sibling duo Benny and Josh Safdie.
“The writing in this... the dialogue felt so real and different,” the 31-year-old explained to Variety at the film's New York City premiere on Tuesday (08Aug17) night. “It’s set in New York and I’ve been here in New York a million times, but it just felt alien to me.
"There was something different and original about the characters and the story. I immediately knew the world of the performance that I wanted to do and I knew the energy I wanted when I saw (directors) Josh and Benny’s work. This was special."
Pattinson also feels he grew as an actor thanks to this film: “I think I’m more confident now; this was a challenging role and I learned a lot about my abilities as an actor. Every single time I get to do another movie, I get a little more confident. You always want to grow in some way and challenge yourself. I feel like this one has helped me become a better actor."
